Try Low Carbs and High Protein on the mayo clinic diet

There have been many different versions of the Mayo Clinic diet over the years and many of these promise to loose pounds quickly, with grapefruits, eggs and meats, and are not sanctioned by the Mayo Clinic Diet program.

Each official program dealing with the Mayo Clinic Diet is geared to the individuals needs after consultations with the Doctors and Dieticians. There is no one diet that works for everyone, and any must be nutritionally balanced and people should think always longer term about loosing weight.

The unofficial Mayo Clinic Diet is normally lower in carbohydrates and higher in protein intake and also recommends high intake of the good fats, but mostly eating meats and poultry that helps stem the hunger. It usually last for three to seven days at a time, and tells people that you can loose large amounts of weight very quickly. They also recommend that you eat large amounts of grapefruit or eggs. The thought is that consuming grapefruits helps to burn up the fat, but there are no clinical studies to back this up other than grapefruit is a good fruit.

There are many different forms of this Mayo Clinic Diet traveling around the world via the internet, and fax, but in the end the so called Mayo Clinic Diet is not a very healthy diet plan to be on as it promotes high intakes of fat that in the long run are not good for your body.
