The old Grapefruit Diet has been floating around for a long time. Its popularity for so many years can be attributed to pseudo-science and good marketing copy. Grapefruit Diet is one of those fad diets that you can use to drop some quick pounds, but, like all fad diets, you need to recognize that it's deficient nutritionally and that you'll gain back what you lose as soon as you get off the Grapefruit diet, if you return to your old eating habits. In 2 1/2 months you should lose 52 pounds. People are not sure if this promise is accurate, and some people haven't tried this grapefruit diet, it seems a little odd though, but who knows, maybe just try this grapefruit diet and laugh at it.
Although there are quite a few different versions of this grapefruit diet plan, all require that you eat half a grapefruit before every meal, to reap the benefits of the fat-burning enzymes. Calories are typically limited to less than 800 per day, although some versions of grapefruit diet require that you 'eat until you are stuffed'. If you love grapefruit, this grapefruit diet plan may be for you. Grapefruit has no fat, is low in calories and sodium, is packed with vitamin C, and the pink variety contains beta-carotene. You don't have to count calories, and the grapefruit diet plan causes rapid weight loss, primarily due to loss of body fluids.
